Count Play Explore

Count Play Explore is a mobile-responsive web application that gives parents, caregivers, and teachers an online resource to watch videos of popular children’s books being read aloud. Embedded in each video is attention to the mathematics found within each story.

Ready Rosie

Ready Rosie is a free tool that provides meaningful school readiness activities and you can do at home with your child.

Our Garrett County Judy Centers are offering Ready Rosie so you can enjoy powerful learning games and expert videos that support you and your child in his/her learning.  The best part is that each activity is modeled in a 2-minute video, so you and your child can watch together and then do the activity!  You also get videos of experts in the field of child development to answer those questions you might have.  Ready Rosie can come straight to your phone via text or email.  It is voluntary and you can decide to opt out at any time.  We hope you'll join us!

Talking Is Teaching

When you talk, read, and sing with your child—even before she can use words—you’re building her brain and helping to prepare her for success in school and in life.

But it may not always be easy to talk to babies, especially when they can’t talk back. To help, we’ve pulled fun tips and resources grounded in the best science, to help you talk, read, and sing with your child every day.

Maryland Families Engage

As a Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) resource, the Maryland Families Engage website was designed to help build a community of support for those who care for and work with children. Our database of resources contains links to child development, family engagement initiatives, mental health, nutrition, literacy and more. You can sort these resources by topics and share your findings with families, friends and colleagues.
